When we moved to Wilmington I discovered eTown, a music program that plays on Penguin Radio in the morning on Saturdays. I make an effort to listen to it when I’m in the car running my errands as I’m prone to do on Saturday mornings. This Saturday I was extra pleased to hear some Texas faves.
I can’t help myself, the holiday season has begun!
I hope you’re dealing with a serious sugar hangover today. Happy Halloween!
I asked a friend for recommendations based on her day at Austin City Limits Music Festival.
I wasn’t disappointed.
Sometimes I’m exaggerating when I say that I can’t stop listening to a band or song. It’s just a good song and I want you to know about it. Sometimes though, I have it on repeat. Sometimes it’s all I’m listening to on Spotify. Sometimes I’m embarrassed that I hadn’t heard the music before.
I really like this band.
This last week I’ve only had ladies on my mind.
Courtney Barnett has been popping up everywhere and I find her style completely draws me in.
Her current tour has put Rhiannon Giddens on my radio frequently lately. I really appreciate that.
On Sundays in Charleston, there are so many musicians playing on King Street. A little out of the way I ran into Samantha Church, playing alone in front of a store. Her voice is powerful and she plays the banjo. Not a common scene. She’s working checking out.
